Chase, along with Southwest Airlines Co. has officially announced the launch of new and enhanced benefits on the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Cards from Chase.
According to certain reports, the Cards’ benefits and new earn categories arrive on the scene bearing an ability to bolster incentives associated with spending and flying through Southwest Airlines.
More on the same would reveal how these new Card benefits include first checked bag free, pre-flight seat selection, and upgrades to Extra Legroom seats with any fare bundle, as well as earlier boarding. Markedly enough, you can also avail unlimited upgrades to extra legroom seats within 48 hours prior to departure, and you can do so no extra charge.
The second card offering in line would be Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Card ($149 Annual Fee), which again enables you, and 8 more passengers in the same reservation, to check their first bag at zero cost. For a group of 4, this would mean a savings of up to $280 roundtrip ($35 per bag per trip).
Anyway, the card brings to the fore 2X points on first $8,000 in combined spend at grocery stores and restaurants each anniversary year. This it does while simultaneously facilitating standard or preferred seat selection within 48 hours prior to departure.
In case that wasn’t enough, the stated card also unlocks promotional code for a 15% flight discount each anniversary year (except Basic fare).
The third card offering from Chase and Southwest Airlines would be Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Card ($99 Annual Fee). The stated offering conceives 2X points on first $5,000 in combined spend at gas stations and grocery stores each anniversary year.
Enjoying seat selection flexibility just like the other packages, this card further offers the prospect of earlier boarding. You see, cardmember, and up to eight more passengers traveling on the same reservation, can board in Group 5.
Beyond that, there is available a promotional code for a 10% flight discount each anniversary year (except Basic fare).

The package in question even provides you with 2,500 Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) towards A-List status for every $5,000 spent annually, previously 1,500 TQPs.
