Silversea, the leading experiential luxury and expedition travel brand, has officially announced the launch of its World Cruise 2028 called An Ode to the Moment.
According to certain reports, the stated cruise will depart from Miami on January 5 before arriving in Nice on May 16, covering during its journey a total of 58 destinations across 29 countries, including 17 overnights.
More on that would reveal how the whole proposition is actually conceptualized by Silversea’s leading destination experts to feature a 132-day voyage. In that span, the voyage will bestow guests with unique cultures and histories of the Caribbean, South America, Africa, Middle East, and Europe.
Connecting over 30 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the entire experience will also pack together curated events and optional overland tours to offer exclusive access of tailor-made experiences.
“Our 2028 World Cruise, An Ode to the Moment, is designed to slow time, offering deeper exploration of each destination,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea. “With our unrivaled destination expertise, we guide guests to both iconic landmarks and hidden gems, ensuring they experience the world at its finest. Exclusive events, special access, and optional overland tours create once-in-a-lifetime moments unique to Silversea’s World Cruises.”
Talk about the given value proposition on a slightly deeper, it will segment the whole thing into 9 distinct chapters.
The first chapter, named as Anthem of Tropics, will focus on Caribbean, where guests can come expecting to visit popular ports of Willemstad and Cartagena, along with lesser-known gems of Jost Van Dyke, Gustavia, and Kralendijk. In fact, with later stays in port, the idea is to give the guests unique opportunities to explore the best of Caribbean, by day or night.
The next chapter in line would be Reign of the Rainforest. Once guests head south from Cartagena to Valparaiso, Reign of the Rainforest will put on display the traces of South American cuisine. You see, guests can enjoy the first S.A.L.T. shore experience of their voyage at this point, tasting rainforest flavors through a Colombian Coffee Workshop.
Not just that, they will also be able to experience the iconic Panama Canal, Embera hospitality, and ancient rituals, as well as the fascinating history of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Alongside that, there will also be a Garden of Moments, which happens to be an exclusive event at the Pedro de Osma Museum, only available on Silversea’s World Cruise 2028.
Then, there is Chapter 3 i.e. Land of Fire and Ice. Here, guests will travel from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires, experiencing the natural beauty of Chilean Fjords and Patagonia, while simultaneously enjoying opportunities to witness the region’s unique wildlife, including sea lions, Magellanic or King Penguins.
In case that wasn’t enough, the chapter also offers S.A.L.T. shore experiences in both Ushuaia and Buenos Aires, where guests will experience traditional dishes, such as Chilean Curanto, the renowned Malbec wines of Argentina, and Asado Barbeque. Complementing that would be an optional overland tour, which focuses on unveiling the magic of the falls at Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Following that would be the chapter no. 4, The Beat of Tradition, a chapter that will make it possible for guests to enjoy the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of South America, including the biggest spectacle on Earth during Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Furthermore, they will be transported to the Sambódromo, where they can enjoy vibrant celebration of steel drums, dazzling costumes, and samba rhythms on the historic site where samba was born.
The chapter no. 5, The Sands of Time, will guide guests to east across the Atlantic, from Rio de Janeiro to Cape Town. During this phase, they will explore the hidden gems of Southern Atlantic, including St. Helena. Once in Africa, guests will explore the iconic Walvis Bay, and Namibian Coast before reaching Cape Town.
When in Cape Town, travelers can also access best views from atop the famous Table Mountain during an optional overland tour for a Night on Table Mountain.
Among other chapters, we have Nature in Verse, Tales of Spice and Silk, the Ancient Realm, and Echoes of Empires.
