VOLZ Secures $5 Million to Accelerate Travel Tech Expansion Across Africa

Algerian startup strengthens regional presence with fresh funding and bold growth plans

Algiers, Algeria, 15 December 2025 – Algerian travel technology startup VOLZ has secured DZD 600 million, approximately $5 million, in a new funding round that will support its expansion across Africa and the development of new digital travel services. The round was led by Tell Group, with participation from GIBA Group, the industrial parent company behind bottled water brand Guedila.

The funding was announced on the sidelines of the Africa Startup Conference 2025, held in Algeria, highlighting growing investor confidence in homegrown technology ventures shaping the continent’s digital economy.

Fueling growth and regional expansion

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen VOLZ’s technology-driven travel platform, expand operations within Algeria, and introduce new offerings such as corporate travel management solutions. The company also plans to enter new markets across North and West Africa, positioning itself as a reliable regional travel platform.

The round marks a notable exit for the Algerian Startup Fund, which achieved returns exceeding three times its original investment. The fund’s early backing helped VOLZ scale rapidly while remaining rooted in the local market.

Building a trusted African travel platform

VOLZ aims to simplify travel booking by combining digital innovation with an understanding of regional needs. Its platform allows users to book flights in Algerian dinars, offering flexible payment options including electronic payments and cash on delivery. Customers can also compare flights across multiple airlines and benefit from responsive customer support and ticket delivery services.

According to the company, these features have helped drive strong adoption, with VOLZ reporting more than 100 percent growth within just two years of operation.

Aiming for unicorn status

VOLZ’s leadership has outlined ambitious long-term goals. The company is positioning itself to become Algeria’s first unicorn and a trusted travel companion for users across Africa. By focusing on accessibility, transparency, and localized services, VOLZ hopes to set new standards for regional travel technology.

Commenting on the funding, the company’s leadership described the investment as a major milestone that will help empower Algerian travelers while making travel services easier and more inclusive across the continent.

As Africa’s travel and tourism sector continues to rebound and digitize, VOLZ’s expansion reflects a broader trend toward tech-enabled platforms that cater to local currencies, payment habits, and regional connectivity.
