Enhances the Nuances of Franchise Business with Smarter Property Management

Choice Hotels International has officially announced the launch of Mews as a property management system (PMS) option for international franchisees.

According to certain reports, the stated platform arrives on the scene bearing a mechanism, where Choice Hotels’ proprietary tools and systems will bank upon Mews’ PMS enterprise-scale hospitality brands, all for the purpose of offering robust integrations, intuitive workflows, and cloud-native architecture. Such a mechanism should also tread up a long distance to enhance connectivity, streamline operations, and drive guest loyalty across Choice Hotels’ growing portfolio using Mews’ next-generation PMS.

More on that would reveal how Mews will be integrating with choiceEDGE, Choice Hotels’ proprietary, cloud-based, customer reservation system, to provide real-time rate updates and availability across all booking channels, while simultaneously enabling frictionless guest interactions.

“As hospitality evolves, expanding our international connectivity and platform options are essential to franchisees. This agreement with Mews will provide another cloud-based platform option to serve Choice hotel owners outside of the U.S. with a tool that can meet their region-specific needs,” said Brian Kirkland, Chief Information Officer at Choice Hotels International.

Taking a deeper view of how all this will aid Choice Hotels’ franchisees moving forward, the answer begins from the proposition’s promise to provide users with comprehensive data visibility, as they can now enjoy real-time access to property-level data, enabling strategic, data-driven operations.

Next up, there is potential for greater operational efficiencies. This the whole arrangement will achieve using smart automation tools, with each one designed to reduce manual tasks in and around front desk operations, housekeeping, as well payments.

Another detail worth a mention is rooted in scalable growth. In essence, the Choice-Mews integration will bring forth a rather flexible infrastructure which, on its part, would be capable of adapting to the former’s diverse brand portfolio, as well as maintaining service consistency.

One byproduct of that would be a chance for franchisees to enhance their guest experience with personalized, frictionless stays, powered by real-time data insights.

The development in question builds upon Choice Hotels’ track record of delivering industry-first owner-facing technologies to aid hospitality industry’s wider digital transformation.

Talk about some of these efforts on a slightly deeper level, they include how, back in 1995, the company introduced world’s first hotel website ever to offer real-time rate and availability information.

Then, in 2003, Choice conceived the first ever cloud-based property management system (PMS), choiceADVANTAGE. Six years later, in 2009, it would release the first hotel app for iOS.

Next up, in 2014, Choice would become the first hotel company to offer instant booking on TripAdvisor. During that same year, Choice was also the only hotel company listed on Forbes’ Top 100 Most Innovative Growth Companies.

A little while later, in 2016, it also became the world’s first ever hotel company to offer immediate in-app gift card downloads. Keeping that trend alive, during the year 2018, Choice went on to launch choiceEDGE, the industry’s first cloud-based central reservation system (CRS).

Hold on, we are not done, considering we haven’t yet touched upon the fact that, in 2019, it became the first hotel company to commit to being 100% on AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud. We also haven’t touched upon how, when 2021 came around, the company launched ChoiceMAX, an award-winning AI mobile-first revenue management solution.

Just last year, Choice also announced the closure of its last data center, making it the first major hotel company to migrate entire system infrastructure to AWS.

“We’re excited to help Choice Hotels set a new benchmark in modern, connected hospitality and this agreement marks another significant milestone for Mews as it continues to expand its footprint in the enterprise hospitality space. Mews was built to empower enterprise hotel groups with a flexible, scalable, and open ecosystem. Together, we’re redefining the future of hotel franchising with innovation, efficiency and exceptional guest experiences,” said Matt Welle, CEO of Mews.
