Capital Hilton has officially announced an assortment of guest activations, each one purpose-built to welcome the fall season.
According to certain reports, the company also took this opportunity to launch s new photography feature at La Galerie on K, which happens to be the hotel’s onsite art gallery featuring photography from members of the D.C. Bird Alliance, an all-volunteer, community nonprofit that connects people with the joy of birds across all eight wards of the city.
Talk about the given activations thing on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Oktoberfest at The Statler Lounge (through Sunday, October 5). You see, the hotel’s Statler Lounge will offer a festive Oktoberfest menu made up of dinner, local craft beers, and seasonal cocktails.
Next up, we have Capital Haunts Halloween Package (Thursday, October 30 through Sunday, November 2). With Halloween just around the corner, Capital Hilton will offer its guests a limited-time package inclusive of a festive welcome amenity, a book that details Washington D.C.’s paranormal history, as well as two complimentary beverages from The Statler Lounge.
In case that wasn’t enough, the hotel’s lobby will also feature a playful Halloween décor installation so to provide a backdrop for photos and a touch of holiday fun for guests.
Another detail worth a mention is rooted in the availability of a self-guided bird watching tour. This translates to how guests can further connect with the city’s natural side through a self-guided bird watching tour developed by the D.C. Bird Alliance. These curated routes will essentially highlight birding hotspots across the District to offer a shot at discovering urban wildlife, while simultaneously enjoying the crisp fall air.
“I hope guests walk away realizing that wild moments are everywhere — a hawk above a crosswalk, swifts spinning at dusk, a warbler in a street-side tree. Once you notice birds, you can’t unsee them; the city feels more alive. And when a place feels alive, we take better care of it and everything that calls it home,” said Maria-Elena Montero, President, D.C. Bird Alliance.
Turning our attention towards Capital Hilton’s new photography feature, it will basically put on the display bird images from teen photography workshop artists, as well as seasoned bird lovers. As for the subjects, they are understood to range from familiar city residents, such as cardinals, woodpeckers, and hawks to seasonal migrants and other species photographed around the world,
Markedly enough, the selected pictures will come Washington D.C and from travels abroad,
Making the said development even more significant would be the presence of Hilton Hotels and Resorts. Best-known for its buzzing lobbies to lively bars, best-in-class restaurants, and iconic event venues, the hospitality giant currently operates more than 600 hotels in nearly 100 countries.
“Partnering with a local organization allows us to celebrate both the artistry and the natural beauty found right here in our community,” said Paolo Pedrazzini, general manager, Capital Hilton. “As part of our fall programming, this installation provides guests with a unique way to experience the beauty of the season, bringing the colors and spirit of autumn indoors to enrich their stay with us.”
