MillerKnoll, a global leader in design, has officially announced the launch of a new Chicago flagship location, as it prepares for Fulton Market Design Days set to take place from June 9-11, 2025.
According to certain reports, the stated location will likely span eight floors and nearly 70,000 square feet of showroom and retail space between the existing building at 1100 West Fulton Market and a new location at 1144 West Fulton Market, thus promising to be a hotbed of innovation.
Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the older 1100 West Fulton Market, a five-story building which has been revamped to pack together an inspiring MillerKnoll welcome area with striking display walls and exhibition spaces that showcase MillerKnoll’s design heritage, product innovation, and dynamic solutions.
Climbing up to the second floor, it offers there a MillerKnoll Chicago workplace, boasting high-performance design to life with a range of settings that support focus, collaboration, and social connection.
In the context of 1100 West Fulton Market, two leading brands in Herman Miller and Knoll will link up under one roof to offer guests a seamless journey across both contract showrooms. Beyond that, guests can also expect to visit showrooms for DatesWeiser and Geiger, along with complimentary design services and personalized support.
While we are talking about the brands set to grace this new market, we got to further touch upon a gallery-like space offering multiple textile brands access. Here, the space will include showrooms for Edelman, Knoll Textiles, and Maharam in an inspiring, hands-on environment.
“At MillerKnoll, we’re driven by the belief that great design should be both visionary and deeply functional. Each of our spaces is thoughtfully crafted to reflect the ways people work, gather, and create—offering real-world solutions through layered planning and purposeful design,” said Andi Owen, CEO of MillerKnoll. “Through environments that bring our research and our collective of brands to life, we help our customers see what’s possible. Building on the success of our Dallas, London, and New York City flagship locations, MillerKnoll Fulton Market continues that momentum as a destination for inspired, forward-thinking design.”
Turning our attention towards 1144 West Fulton Market, it would be a new 21,000-square-foot, three-story building. At launch, the location will be decked up with contract showrooms for HAY, Muuto, and NaughtOne, a dedicated area for MillerKnoll’s healthcare solutions, and a courtyard by Michael van Valkenburgh Associates, the renowned landscape architecture firm behind New York’s Brooklyn Bridge Park and Chicago’s Maggie Daley Park.
All in all, this new space is designed with an intention to blend natural elements with contemporary elegance.
Another detail worth a mention is rooted in how, across 1100 and 1144 West Fulton Markets, MillerKnoll will host engaging events and exhibits, share insights, while simultaneously collaborating with the design community and clients to address pressing questions around the future of workplace, healthcare, education, hospitality, and other related environments. In case that wasn’t enough, the stated event will also feature several product launches from MillerKnoll’s assortment of brands.
For instance, Knoll will unveil Dividends Skyline, a refined, flexible, and holistically integrated system that reimagines the open-plan workplace with glass-walled pavilion, open-plan layouts, and dedicated collaboration zones.
Next up, Herman Miller plans to showcase its performance seating lab, where experts can help customers find their perfect fit, and therefore, highlight the importance of personalized comfort. Alongside that, the brand will also preview the Eames® Molded Plastic Dining Chair and commemorate the 75th anniversary of its iconic Eames® Shell Chair.
Apart from that, Geiger is going to preview Lijn by Carole Baijings Studio for Design, which happens to be a minimalist piece that relays Geiger’s unparalleled woodcraft. Renowned for her color-centric practice, Baijings would go on to develop a distinctive stain color palette for this very chair.
Moving on, DatesWeiser will also mark an expansion of its popular JD collection by offering a sneak-peek into Ascent, a new conferencing line of tables and credenzas designed by EOOS. For better understanding, this sophisticated collection combines extensive customization options with seamless specification. To go along with that, it is also available in various different shapes and sizes.
