Loews Hotels has officially announced the launch of Freshly Rooted by Loews Hotels, which happens to be a culinary program focused on preaching greater sustainability across the ecosystem of food and beverage offerings.
According to certain reports, the stated program arrives on the scene bearing the means to serve unique, hand-crafted salads made from locally sourced ingredients, thus reinforcing the brand’s commitment to responsible sourcing, supporting local farms, and providing guests with fresh, flavorful dishes rooted in regional agriculture.
More on that would reveal how, mirroring what’s put on the table by Loews’ well-known beverage program, this Freshly Rooted by Loews Hotels initiative will feature a rotating selection of salads to showcase the best of each destination’s local harvest. Each salad will be markedly sourced from trusted regional purveyors, meaning it will be crafted using fresh, seasonal ingredients that complement Loews’ broader sustainability goals, while simultaneously promoting the well-being of guests.
All in all, the overarching initiative will launch with unique offerings in restaurants and outlets, but having said, there are plans already in place to expand into banquet and meeting experiences at some point down the line.
Talk about the Freshly Rooted by Loews Hotels on a slightly deeper level, we begin from Loews Arlington Hotel: Beet & Citrus Salad. Available at Farena, this particular spring-centric salad is expected to feature local goat cheese from Mozzarella Co, chicory, and greens from Youngs Greenhouses and Tru Harvest, and grapes from Village Farms Fresh, along with locally sourced hazelnuts.
Next up, we must dig into Loews Miami Beach Hotel: Local Burrata Salad, which will be made using ingredients hand-delivered to ensure maximum freshness. The stated Italian-inspired salad will also feature locally sourced burrata from Capri Organic Dairy, fresh heirloom tomatoes from Tomato Thyme, cucumbers from J&J Family Farms, and artisan bread crisps from beloved Miami bread master, Zak the Baker.
Another detail worth a mention is rooted in the Loews Chicago Hotel: Little Gem Salad. Here, the ingredients will be sourced from closed Loop Farms to deliver a bright and refreshing mix comprising of little gem lettuce, Wisconsin goat gouda, grapes, ruby red grapefruit, avocado, almond, Michigan gala apples, and a smoked heaven honey buttermilk gouda dressing.
Moving on to Loews Coronado Bay Resort: California Nicoise Salad, it is essentially a California Niçoise Salad, made almost entirely of locally sourced ingredients from Southern California, including ahi tuna from Catalina Offshore Products, organic greens from J.R. Organics, tomatoes from Wong Farms, pastured eggs from Eben-Haezer Egg Ranch, and thyme grown in the garden at Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
Rounding up highlights would be Loews Kansas City Hotel: Stillwell Salad, which can be accessed from Bar Stillwell. As for what is it going to offer, the salad boasts locally harvested greens, California Mo Beets, radishes and peas from Juniper Hills Farms, an avocado-ginger vinaigrette, and crisped quinoa.
“Honest food and honest partnerships are the core of our approach,” said Mark Weiss, Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage & Design at Loews Hotels. “Freshly Rooted by Loews Hotels not only supports local farmers but also ensures our guests enjoy meals made from natural, healthy, and responsibly sourced ingredients. By collaborating with local purveyors, sustainability becomes an essential part of the Loews dining experience.”
